Meet the Heart Behind Doodle & Maggie™
Doodle & Maggie™ was born from a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves to know they are seen, they are valued, and they are deeply loved.
As a former Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer, I had the privilege of advocating for children during some of the most vulnerable moments of their young lives. Walking alongside children who were experiencing abuse, neglect, family separation, and uncertainty forever changed my heart. Those experiences reinforced something I have always believed — that every child deserves to know someone cares, someone is listening, and someone will stand beside them.
Children are our future. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, encouraged, and loved — not because of where they come from or what they have experienced, but simply because they are a child.
That calling became the inspiration for Doodle & Maggie™.
This project is currently in active development. Every story, every illustration, every coloring page, and every companion resource is being thoughtfully created to bring comfort, encouragement, and hope to children experiencing life's difficult transitions.
Whether a child is entering foster care, adjusting to a new home, navigating family changes, participating in court proceedings, meeting new caregivers, changing schools, or simply facing uncertainty, my hope is that these stories provide reassurance and remind each child of one simple truth:
No matter your circumstances.
No matter where you live.
No matter what your family looks like.
No matter what has happened.

Every story, every illustration, every coloring page, and every companion resource is being thoughtfully created with one purpose: to bring comfort, encouragement, and hope to children while supporting the parents, caregivers, foster families, Guardian ad Litems, teachers, counselors, social workers, and child advocates who walk beside them.
My hope is that every child who opens a Doodle & Maggie™ book discovers not only lovable characters, but also comfort, courage, and hope. If even one child closes these pages feeling a little braver, a little more understood, or a little more loved, then this project will have fulfilled its purpose.

Doodle & Maggie was born from a desire to create something meaningful for children experiencing difficult circumstances. Whether a child is adjusting to foster care, navigating family changes, participating in court proceedings, meeting new caregivers, or simply facing uncertainty, these stories are designed to remind them that they are seen, they are valued, and they are never alone.
Through lovable doodle dogs, gentle storytelling, interactive coloring pages, and encouraging messages, Doodle & Maggie seeks to provide comfort while helping trusted adults begin important conversations with the children they care about.
This project is currently being written, illustrated, and thoughtfully developed with the goal of creating resources that children will cherish and professionals will confidently recommend.
